The most frequently asked questions contact us:

• Brine – what is it?

When was the last time you were in the sea? Just as you can feel swimming in seawater doing you good, relaxing and refreshing your skin and your soul, so brine cleanses and heals. This has been proved scientifically.

Brine is a mixture of salt and water, like seawater, the origin of life. It is not for nothing that the German word for brine, “Sole”, is derived from the Latin word Sol (sun).

Brine has at least 1.5% cooking salt, and the enhanced Soltau brine even has 29.2%. The concentration in the waters of the Therme is 2.5 to 3.5 percent. This is what makes it so valuable for your health. The healing Soltau spring bubbles up from around 200 metres under the earth.

Whether you are suffering from coughs and sneezes or minor heart or circulation problems: Brine will help.

And for diseases of the skin, respiratory tract or joints, as well as rheumatism, arthritis and damage to the spinal column or disks, brine eases the problems quickly, gently and effectively. Doctors even rely on brine for the consequences of accidents, nerve damage or operations. Salt stimulates the skin cells to metabolise more protein and increases the cell division rate – which keeps the skin young.

• How do I get a course of treatment?

What requirements have to be met in order to have a course of treatment in Soltau financed, at least partially? Read the following tips from the Soltau Tourist Office, Soltau Touristik GmbH:

“According to the Social Code, insured persons are entitled to obtain medical treatment and care with medicinal products, surgical dressings and devices if this involves remedying a weakened state of health which would lead to illness within a foreseeable period of time, counteracting a threat to the healthy development of a child or avoiding the need for nursing care.”

If the above described services are insufficient for the insured persons – the decision on this must be made by a doctor – then the health insurer can provide the measures needed for medical reasons in the form of precautionary or rehabilitation treatment on an outpatient basis, for example as an outpatient course of spa treatments.

• Cashless payment in the Soltau-Therme

No one has to carry notes and coins around with them in the Therme. Every guest is given a “chip” when they arrive, on which all the services they use are recorded. This applies to entrance to the different areas and also to food and drink or services such as massages. At the end of the visit to the Therme, everything can be paid for conveniently at the cash desk.
• What are bonus cards?

By acquiring one of these cards you acquire the option of continuing the cashless payment from the Soltau Therme at the exit and in the restaurant.

The discount you receive depends on the amount you pay, and applies exclusively to the entrance prices for the pool areas and visits to the sauna.

The respective rates and opening times can be found in our price information.

Consumption of food and drink in our gastronomy facilities, the use of the Vitadrom and the solariums are charged without a discount.

We currently offer bonus cards in denominations from 50 to 250 Euro. We grant discounts from 10 % to 25 %. The bonus card is transferable to as many other people as you like and is not restricted to any specific period of time. It remains valid for as long as there is still a residual credit available. If this should no longer be sufficient on one of your visits, then you can pay the difference in the invoice amount in cash, or top up the bonus card to the original credit amount. A discount can only be granted when you have sufficient credit on your card.

You also have the option of acquiring cash value cards with a credit value from 10 Euro. The difference between these and the bonus cards consists in the fact that here no discount is granted.

• Is a special “ladies’ sauna” offered?

Yes, every Thursday during the general opening time, a special area in the sauna is accessible only for women. In this way, women who prefer to sauna only with other women have the option of using a separate sauna cabin with an adjoining rest area and its own sanitary facilities.
• Are electronic payment cards accepted in payment?

Yes, all entrance charges and services can be paid for using an electronic payment card. This option is also available in the “Thermeblick” restaurant.
