- What is kelo?
Kelo pine is the centuries-old, polar pine, which has become parched while still standing. It has a characteristic silver-grey shimmering patina.
Because of its very slow growth in extreme conditions, the wood displays very thick annual rings. During the course of its centuries-long drying process, the tree loses its bark and gradually adopts the typical colouring. The core wood on the other hand is characterized by a reddish tone. The wood has a fine-grained, dry and hard structure. The thickness of the trunks ranges between 170 and 600 mm.
